REI Settles OT Class Action For $2.5M

Law360, New York (May 6, 2015, 2:21 PM EDT) -- A federal magistrate judge on Tuesday granted preliminary approval of a $2.5 million settlement between Recreational Equipment Inc. and about 5,000 former employees in California who claim the sporting goods store failed to pay minimum wage and overtime.

Named plaintiffs Alison Macias and Justin Quan said in their April 7 motion for preliminary approval of the agreement that the terms of the settlement were fair and reasonable, and urged Magistrate Judge Paul Singh Grewal to give a green light for the parties to resolve the claims....
