CVS Gets OK For $7.4M Deal In Pharmacist OT Class Actions

Law360, Los Angeles (July 17, 2015, 6:51 PM EDT) -- A California state judge on Thursday signed off on CVS Pharmacy Inc.'s $7.4 million settlement with more than 1,600 pharmacists to end three separate class actions accusing the company of illegally forcing employees to work seven days in a row without overtime pay.

The three suits, all filed in October 2013, had alleged that CVS violated the California labor code by requiring pharmacists to work more than six days in a row without paying time and a half for the hours worked on the seventh day. On...
