Ex-USA Gymnastics CEO Charged With Evidence Tampering

By Mike Curley (October 18, 2018, 2:59 PM EDT) -- The former president and CEO of USA Gymnastics has been arrested in Tennessee after a Texas grand jury indicted him on charges of tampering with evidence during the federal investigation into convicted sexual abuser and former sports doctor Larry Nassar.

Prosecutors from Walker County, Texas, announced late Wednesday that Steve Penny, who resigned in March 2017 amid the scandal, was arrested by U.S. marshals in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and is awaiting extradition to Walker County.
