Ex-Penn Coach Says Esformes Paid To Get Son On Team

Law360, Miami (March 8, 2019, 3:52 PM EST) -- Former University of Pennsylvania men's basketball coach Jerome Allen took the stand Friday in the health care fraud trial of Philip Esformes and described how he received about $300,000 in bribes from the Miami nursing home mogul in bags full of cash and wire transfers to get Esformes' son on the Penn basketball team and into the Wharton School of Business.
