Warriors Win Partial Toss Of Fan's App-Spying Suit
By Suevon Lee (February 14, 2017, 5:17 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Monday partially dismissed a suit brought by a Golden State Warriors fan who alleges the team's smartphone app secretly recorded and captured her private communications, while granting her leave to amend the suit after finding she has standing.
Plaintiff Latisha Satchell has alleged sufficient facts to demonstrate she suffered an injury in fact from the purported spying by the app, but could not state a claim showing violations of the Wiretap Act because she failed to show how the defendants intercepted and then used those oral communications, U.S. District Judge Jefrey S. White held.
