Riddell Football Helmet Buyers Drop Concussion Claims Suit

Law360, New York (May 26, 2017, 5:14 PM EDT) -- The football helmet buyers who accused Riddell Inc. of misleading consumers by claiming it used special technology that could reduce the likelihood of concussions have agreed to drop their putative class action, according to a dismissal stipulation filed Thursday in New Jersey federal court. 

The December 2013 lawsuit alleged Riddell and its related corporate units falsely advertised that Riddell Revolution helmets lowered concussions by 31 percent despite studies that show that no helmet lowers concussion risk more than another.
