Del. Becomes Latest State To Legalize Fantasy Sports

Law360, New York (July 31, 2017, 4:42 PM EDT) -- Delaware governor John Carney has signed a bill legalizing fantasy sports games like those run by FanDuel and DraftKings in the state, the latest in a trend toward legalizing the games amid a fight over the federal sports-betting ban currently waging before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Gov. Carney on Wednesday signed House Bill 249, which amends state law to reflect that fantasy sports are “games of skill” and not an illegal form of gambling.
