Conn. OKs Daily Fantasy Sports As Pa. Opens Up Betting Path

Law360, New York (November 1, 2017, 8:49 PM EDT) -- Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy on Tuesday signed off on a budget plan containing provisions allowing daily fantasy sports contests in the state, just one day after Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf’s approval of a bill containing similar measures that also creates a path toward wagering on sporting events.

To legalize daily fantasy sports competitions in the state, the bipartisan budget plan signed by Malloy would amend Connecticut’s compacts with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut, operators of the Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos in the state.
