Sidley, Kirkland Put Under Microscope In EFH Bankruptcy
The trustee for second-lien noteholders owed $1.6 billion in the Energy Future Holdings Corp. bankruptcy is pressing ahead with plans to scrutinize the debtors' counsel Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Sidley Austin LLP over any past ties with the equity holders that bought out the energy giant in 2007, according to court papers filed Friday.

Bankrupt power giant Energy Future Holdings Corp. has postponed a contested hearing over a $1.9 billion debtor-in-possession facility and a related settlement previously slated to resume Thursday, as well as consideration of a plan support agreement scheduled for next week, saying it needs time to consider comments from the court and other issues.
