LG Hit With Patent Suit Over Smart TV Technology

Law360 (June 7, 2018, 1:16 PM EDT) -- An electronics company accused LG in New Jersey federal court Wednesday of infringing its smart television patents that cover technology allowing TVs to display both videos and internet content on the screen at once.

The plaintiff, TVnGO Ltd., argued that LG Electronics Inc. had deliberately infringed five of its patents with the LG Smart TVs and LG WebOS Smart TVs. The patents cover methods to combine video signals with internet on a smart TV so that users can access the internet on their screens.
