White House Pushes Back On Senate ZTE Crackdown

Law360, Washington (June 13, 2018, 6:56 PM EDT) -- The White House has started to throw up roadblocks to the Senate’s effort to reinstate sanctions against Chinese telecommunications company ZTE, saying Wednesday they would oppose an effort that was tacked onto a must-pass defense bill.

A White House spokesman said Wednesday that the measure in the National Defense Authorization Act went too far in reinstating the sanctions against the company and ban from the U.S. market.
