In their efforts to find Patrick, the police obtained a search warrant, which authorized it to obtain cell-site location information from Patrick's cellular service provider. When the police nabbed him, they saw a gun and seized it incident to his arrest. Ultimately, Patrick was charged with unlawfully being a felon in possession of a firearm in violation of federal law. In the district court, he unsuccessfully moved to suppress the gun and pleaded guilty, but preserved the suppression issue for appeal....
