Prosecutors Slam Pa. Mayor's Bid To Toss Graft Indictment

Law360, Philadelphia (November 16, 2017, 3:37 PM EST) -- Federal prosecutors on Wednesday ripped Allentown, Pennsylvania, Mayor Ed Pawlowski’s effort to stamp out the corruption case against him, saying his claims that they failed to present exculpatory evidence to an investigating grand jury were both legally and factually flawed.

The government said it provided more than enough evidence to the grand jury to support its allegations of a pay-to-play scheme in which Pawlowski took over $150,000 in campaign contributions in exchange for the use of his official position.
