Time Warner Sued Over Internet Technology

Law360 (September 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Time Warner Cable Inc. has been hit with a federal lawsuit claiming that its high-speed cable modem and Internet services infringe five patents held by Pennsylvania-based patent-holding company Rembrandt Technologies LP, the second patent case brought against Time Warner Cable by Rembrandt since June.

That suit—filed Wednesday in Texas’ Eastern District—accuses Time Warner Cable of infringing U.S. Patent Numbers 5,008,903; 5,710,761; 5,778,234; 6,131,159 and 6,950,444.
