Cohen Wants Avenatti Out, Citing A 'Carnival Atmosphere'

Law360 (May 18, 2018, 11:03 PM EDT) -- President Donald Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen told a New York federal judge Friday that Stormy Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti has been creating a “carnival atmosphere” and should not be allowed into the court proceedings that have resulted from a raid of Cohen’s office.

Cohen wants Avenatti out of the case, which began after last month’s government raid, because, among other reasons, Avenatti published bank records allegedly showing that Cohen took several suspicious payments from international organizations and companies in the run-up to Trump’s election.
