NFL Asks For Investigator To Probe Concussion Claim Fraud

Law360, Philadelphia (May 30, 2018, 8:24 PM EDT) -- An attorney for the National Football League urged a Pennsylvania federal judge during a hearing on Wednesday to name a special investigator to help sort through what he said was an “extraordinary number of potentially fraudulent claims” submitted against the NFL's billion-dollar concussion settlement.

Richard Tarlowe, an attorney with Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison LLP representing the league, said audits by a settlement administrator had found evidence to support a finding that some 440 claims submitted on behalf of ex-players included material misrepresentations or omissions....
