NY Appeals Board Agrees That Uber Drivers Are Employees

Law360 (July 19, 2018, 10:09 PM EDT) -- The New York State Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board affirmed an administrative law judge’s determination that three former Uber Inc. drivers and those similarly situated were employees for the purpose of receiving unemployment benefits, rejecting the ride-hailing giant’s bid to withdraw its appeal, the New York Taxi Workers Alliance announced Thursday.
