Aviation Co. Fights For Award In Helicopter Contract Row

Law360 (August 10, 2018, 4:52 PM EDT) -- Multinational aviation company Starlite Investments Ireland Ltd. asked a Texas federal judge to confirm an emergency arbitration award over certain payments in a dispute with a Fort Worth-based helicopter manufacturer relating to a U.S. government contract for military operations in Afghanistan, arguing Thursday that the court has the authority to do so.

U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor had ruled late last month that a bid by Air Center Helicopters Inc. to vacate the order issued in the ongoing arbitration should be denied. But at the same time, the judge said he questioned the court's jurisdiction, and he ordered additional briefing....
