Law360 (August 10, 2018, 11:32 AM EDT) -- As expected, following his May 8, 2018, decision to withdraw the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA, President Donald Trump signed a new executive order on Aug. 6, 2018, formally reimposing certain sanctions with respect to Iran. This new executive order on Iran marks the end of the first 90-day wind-down period for JCPOA compliant activity, and certain categories of activity involving Iran and occurring after Aug. 6, 2018, are now prohibited or sanctionable for U.S. and foreign persons.
