Judge Orders Deadly FIU Bridge Collapse Records Released
Law360 (August 21, 2018, 9:56 PM EDT) -- A Florida judge ruled Tuesday that the Florida Department of Transportation must release public records related to the pedestrian bridge at Florida International University near Miami that collapsed in March and killed six people.
Tallahassee Circuit Judge Kevin J. Carroll ordered FDOT to produce records from Feb. 20 through March 15 that were requested by the Miami Herald related to the failed bridge, ruling that the federal regulation restricting the dissemination of information by a party to a National Transportation Safety Board investigation doesn't apply to records produced before the investigation had begun.
