Law360 (September 14, 2018, 2:39 PM EDT) -- While many cities have long operated bike-share programs, whereby commuters can rent a bicycle from permanent stations, the newest wave of “micromobility” is entirely dockless, and revolves around electric scooters. Inspired by the initial success of dockless bicycles in China, the newest U.S. dockless scooter approach relies on using a smartphone to locate an available nearby scooter.
