EVA, Others To End Trans-Pacific Price-Fix Row For $50M

By Matt Bernardini (October 12, 2018, 5:41 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge granted final approval of settlements with EVA Airways Corp., Philippine Airlines Inc., Air New Zealand Ltd. and China Airlines Ltd. that will require the carriers to pay more than $50 million to resolve their part of multidistrict litigation alleging that major airlines conspired to fix the prices of trans-Pacific flights.

The settlement leaves one defendant in the case, All Nippon Airways. 

U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer on Thursday approved settlements with the four airlines that totaled over $50 million after the companies allegedly fixed the price of flights to Asia or Oceania between January 2000 and December 2016.
