Esformes Paid Man At Center Of College Bribery Scheme

Law360, Miami (March 15, 2019, 3:13 PM EDT) -- Miami nursing home owner Philip Esformes sent more than $400,000 to the allegedly fraudulent charity run by William "Rick" Singer, the man at the center of the massive college bribery scandal announced earlier this week, according to a government witness in Esformes' health care fraud trial.

More than $400,000 went from Esformes accounts to Singer's Key Worldwide Foundation, which prosecutors in Massachusetts say was used to launder bribes from wealthy families to get their kids into elite colleges. Bank records show the money going from Esformes to the foundation, according to Michael Petron, a managing director at Stout Risius Ross LLC...
