Pentagon Calls For $3.6B Military Construction Hit List

By Kaitlyn Burton (April 12, 2019, 7:41 PM EDT) -- Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan has reportedly asked for a list of military construction projects worth $3.6 billion in funding that could be diverted to President Donald Trump's wall-building project along the southern border.

Shanahan gave Pentagon Comptroller David Norquist until May 10 to identify "existing military construction projects of sufficient value to provide up to $3.6 billion in funding for my consideration," he wrote in a memo Thursday obtained by news site Task & Purpose.

He also told Norquist to leave off the list projects that have already been awarded; projects with fiscal 2019 award dates; and family housing, barracks...
