Calif. Man Who Threatened FCC Chair's Kids Gets 1.5 Years

Law360 (May 17, 2019, 9:17 PM EDT) -- A California man who threatened to kill the children of Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai was sentenced Friday morning to 20 months in prison, the U.S. Department of Justice has announced.

Markara Man, 33, emailed Pai several times in 2017 and threatened to kill his children, according to court filings. He also accused the chair of causing kids to commit suicide with his repeal of net neutrality regulations, prosecutors said.

Man later admitted to sending the emails, saying it was because he was angry about Pai’s move to repeal regulations mandating that internet service providers treat all web traffic equally, filings...
