RCN, RTI Settle $915M Phone Router Patent Suit

Law360, New York (September 2, 2009, 1:30 PM EDT) -- Patent-holding company Rates Technology Inc. has reached a settlement with RCN Corp. in a $915 million patent suit accusing the cable provider of infringing RTI's telephone router technology.

Judge Laura Swain of the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York signed off Tuesday on a stipulated motion of dismissal with prejudice between the parties.

An attorney for RTI said the details of the settlement were confidential.
