TransUnion FCRA Dispute Paused For Supreme Court Appeal

By Kelly Zegers (April 16, 2020, 9:00 PM EDT) -- The Ninth Circuit has agreed to pause its decision to affirm and pare down a California federal jury's award in a class action alleging that TransUnion violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act while the U.S. Supreme Court decides whether to review it. 

The appeals court paused its decision on Wednesday pending TransUnion LLC's filing of a petition for writ of certiorari. The parties had filed a joint request for the stay on Tuesday, noting that "a stay will spare the parties — and the district court — the time and expense of proceedings on remands during the coronavirus."
