Calif. School District's Win Upheld In Student Suicide Suit

Law360 (June 30, 2020, 6:38 PM EDT) -- A California appellate court has upheld a public school district's trial win in a wrongful death suit over a student's suicide, saying the trial judge erred by allowing an improper claim to proceed to trial.

In a June 26 deciison, a three-judge Court of Appeal panel for the First District unanimously affirmed a defense verdict in a suit brought by Charles and Frances Neeley seeking to hold San Mateo Union High School District and Aragon High School liable for their son Tyler's 2014 suicide.
