Software Developer Defends Texas Trade Secret Claims

Law360 (July 15, 2020, 7:54 PM EDT) -- A Texas-based software developer has told a federal court that allegations his former business partner refused to turn over equipment and embezzled money are not blocked by a release the pair signed.

Jonathan Villareal said he never signed away his right to sue on behalf of himself or ZroBlack LLC, objecting to efforts by John Saenz to rid himself of allegations related to the company's messy dissolution, according to a Tuesday filing. The 2019 release never barred future claims, Villareal said.
