Plaintiffs Drop Lipitor Class Action Against Pfizer

Law360, New York (November 6, 2009, 5:00 PM EST) -- Plaintiffs have dropped their putative class action accusing Pfizer Inc. of fraudulently marketing Lipitor by covering up certain side effects and misrepresenting the cholesterol drug's efficacy in some patient groups.

In a joint stipulation and order of dismissal filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the plaintiffs — a group that includes the Southern Illinois Laborers & Employers Health & Welfare Fund, the NECA-IBEW Welfare Trust Fund and the Midwestern Teamsters Health & Welfare Fund — dismissed their case...
