RIAA Sues 477 More "John Does" For Music Piracy

Law360, New York (April 29, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Recording Industry Association of America has sued 477 more computer users for illegal online music sharing, including numerous university students at schools in 11 states.

The recording industry filed its latest complaints against "John Doe" defendants, identifying them only by their numeric Internet Protocol addresses.

The trade group said it would work through the courts to request subpoenas against the universities and some commercial Internet providers to learn the defendants' names.
