Penske Urges Judge To Prevent 'Chaos' In Pension Suit

By Lauraann Wood (October 26, 2021, 10:46 PM EDT) -- Penske urged an Illinois federal judge Tuesday to stop a pension fund from expelling its Dallas bargaining unit and forcing the company to incur millions in withdrawal liability, arguing any action by the fund would send already tense contract negotiations into "complete chaos."

Penske Truck Leasing Co. argued that U.S. District Judge Andrea Wood should temporarily restrain the Central States, Southeast & Southwest Areas Pension Plan's board of trustees from making any expulsion decision for its Dallas-area union because any decision from the board would irreparably harm ongoing contract negotiations.
