EA Appeals Nondismissal Of Athletes' Licensing Suit

Law360, New York (February 19, 2010, 3:49 PM EST) -- Video game maker Electronic Arts Inc. has appealed a federal judge's refusal to dismiss a putative antitrust and right of publicity class action by former collegiate student-athletes who say they have not received their share of the money made from licensing their images.

EA, which makes games such as “NCAA Football,” “NCAA Basketball” and NCAA March Madness,” gave notice of appeal Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and asked that the entire case be stayed pending the appeal.
