FTC, States Ink $12M False Claims Deals With LifeLock

Law360, New York (March 9, 2010, 2:38 PM EST) -- LifeLock Inc. has agreed to pay $11 million to the Federal Trade Commission and $1 million to a group of 35 state attorneys general to settle allegations that it used false claims to promote its identity theft protection services.

In a deal announced Tuesday, Lifelock and its co-founders Richard Todd Davis and Robert J. Maynard will also be barred from making deceptive claims and will be required to take additional measures to safeguard the personal information collected from customers.
