DOJ Taps 35 Prosecutors, Agents To Tackle IP Crimes

Law360, New York (April 27, 2010, 3:00 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has dedicated 35 additional prosecutors and FBI agents to intellectual property investigations in an effort to step up the fight against domestic and international IP crimes.

The 15 new assistant U.S. attorney positions, announced Monday, will be part of the Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property network of federal prosecutors who focus on high-tech IP crimes. The 20 FBI special agents will be deployed to augment four geographic areas with IP squads, and increase investigative capacity in other locations around the U.S....
