Judge Unseals Documents In Newspaper Case

Law360 (January 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge acquiesced in part Wednesday to an alternative paper and media resource center’s request that she unseal some documents in the lawsuit attempting to block the MediaNews Group acquisition of the San Jose Mercury News and the Contra Costa Times.

Clinton Reilly, a prominent San Francisco real estate investor and a former mayoral candidate, filed the antitrust suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California July to attempt to stop MediaNews from buying the McClatchy newspapers.
