High Court To Hear Challenge To Ariz. E-Verify Law

Law360, New York (June 28, 2010, 2:32 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court decided Monday to hear a challenge to an Arizona law that requires employers to confirm the immigration status of potential workers using the E-Verify federal database, as more and more states mull similar legislation.

The high court granted a petition for certiorari filed by a group of business, labor and civil rights associations, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, that are seeking to overturn the Legal Arizona Workers Act.
