Forced Ch. 7 For Sommet Group OK'd

Law360, New York (August 23, 2010, 1:20 PM EDT) -- A bankruptcy judge has approved a petition for forced bankruptcy of employee benefits contractor Sommet Group LLC, putting the former sponsor of the Nashville Predators' hockey arena on the path to liquidation.

Judge Keith M. Lundin of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee on Friday approved the Chapter 7 petition, which was filed July 27 by three creditors that said the company has stiffed them on its responsibility to pay their employees.
