Foreign Plaintiffs Allowed In Toyota Accelerator MDL

Law360, New York (September 14, 2010, 6:20 PM EDT) -- The federal judge in charge of multidistrict litigation over runaway Toyota Motor Corp. cars has opened the proceeding up to millions of foreign plaintiffs also alleging Toyota concealed throttle defects that caused its cars to accelerate without warning.

Judge James V. Selna of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California issued a temporary order Monday allowing plaintiffs from more than 10 countries to file their own consolidated complaint in the MDL over unintended acceleration in Toyota vehicles.
