FBI Agent Defends Galleon Wiretap Application

Law360, New York (October 6, 2010, 5:33 PM EDT) -- An FBI agent who spearheaded the investigation into the alleged Galleon Group insider trading ring testified Wednesday in a hearing over wiretap evidence in the case, defending a decision to omit certain information from an application for the probes.

Special Agent B.J. Kang admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York that he did not include a reference to a previous U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission investigation into Galleon or information about cooperating witness' previous fraud conviction in the wiretap application....
