McAfee Settles With Acacia Over Hyperlinks

Law360 (March 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Security software company McAfee Inc. agreed on Thursday to settle a patent infringement lawsuit filed by an Acacia Research Corp. unit over patents relating to Internet hyperlinks located on CDs and DVDs.

The agreement removes the Silicon Valley heavyweight from an ongoing case in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, where Acacia subsidiary Disk Link Corp sued a handful of companies in December 2006.
