Louis Berger To Pay $69M In False Claims Settlement

Law360, New York (November 5, 2010, 5:44 PM EDT) -- The Louis Berger Group Inc. has agreed to pay a $50.6 million civil settlement, as well as $18.7 million in criminal penalties, to resolve an investigation into allegations the military contractor overbilled the government for work in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The company entered a deferred prosecution agreement with the U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey, agreeing to pay the criminal penalties, make full restitution to the U.S. Agency for International Development, employ an independent monitor and make other ethics changes, U.S. attorney Paul J....
