Gibson Guitar Goes On Warpath Over Trademarks

Law360, New York (November 22, 2010, 3:41 PM EST) -- Gibson Guitar Corp. has filed five trademark lawsuits in four states against defendants including Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Target Corp. and Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores, claiming that Gibson marks are being used without permission to deceive the public and tap into the good will associated with the guitar maker.

Gibson filed trademark complaints on Thursday in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Illinois and California.
