Judge Keeps $319M 'Millionaire' Verdict Intact

Law360, New York (December 22, 2010, 6:46 PM EST) -- A federal judge has officially denied The Walt Disney Co.'s request to overturn a $319 million jury verdict in a licensing battle over profits from the hit TV show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.”

Judge Virginia A. Phillips of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California tentatively rejected Disney's motion for judgment as a matter of law on Dec. 6, and she sealed the deal in an order filed Tuesday.

Judge Phillips also rejected Disney's motion for a new trial.
