Blockbuster Gets Green Light To Close Stores

Law360 (January 20, 2011, 6:36 PM EST) -- A bankruptcy judge on Thursday said Blockbuster Inc. could go ahead with a plan to close dozens of stores over landlords' objections, just a day after granting the video store chain more time to file a Chapter 11 reorganization plan.

The rulings were part of a series of orders issued by Judge Burton R. Lifland of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York over the course of two days.
