"Time Shaving" Suits Against Wal-Mart Pile Up

Law360, New York (April 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has been hit with at least six new proposed class actions since April 2, all alleging the retail giant deleted thousands of hours of work time from employees’ payroll records.

On Wednesday, two lawsuits accusing Wal-Mart of “time shaving” were lodged in Illinois and Massachusetts respectively, and two more were filed in Nevada. A suit was filed Tuesday in Texas, and another was filed in Oregon on Monday.

The six suits, which contain similar and sometimes identical language, referenced Wal-Mart’s allegedly “systematic” failure...
