Halliburton Can't Shake Suit Over Trucker Arbitration

Law360, New York (February 3, 2011, 4:37 PM EST) -- A federal judge has rejected Halliburton Inc. and other government contractors' bid to dismiss a suit over their refusal to move ahead with class action arbitration brought by truck drivers claiming the companies breached employment agreements by forcing them to work off the clock.

Judge Vaughn R. Walker of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California signed an order Wednesday rejecting the defendants' motion to dismiss and denying the petitioners' motion to compel the defendants to proceed with the ongoing arbitration.
