Judge Lets MissPERS Back In $950M RBS Fraud Suit

Law360, New York (February 18, 2011, 6:03 PM EST) -- A federal judge in New York has granted a Mississippi fund's request to remain a plaintiff in a $950 million securities fraud suit against Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC because the lead plaintiff did not acquire certain preferred shares related to the fund's claims.

The lead plaintiff in the case, the Freeman Group, did not purchase any so-called Series U shares, Judge Deborah A. Batts ruled Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, granting the Mississippi Public Employees' Retirement...
