AstraZeneca To Pay $69M To States Over Seroquel

Law360, New York (March 10, 2011, 2:12 PM EST) -- AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP reached a $68.5 million settlement Thursday with the attorneys general from California, Texas, New York and more than 30 other states, resolving allegations the drugmaker deceptively marketed its multibillion-dollar antipsychotic Seroquel.

Comprising 37 states and the District of Columbia, the settlement is the largest-ever struck to end a states-led consumer protection action against a pharmaceutical company, according to the attorneys general.
