Chuck E. Cheese's Seeks To Nix Illegal Games Suit

Law360, New York (May 16, 2011, 3:56 PM EDT) -- Chuck E. Cheese's urged a California federal court earlier this month to toss a mother's putative class action alleging the pizza chain's popular games of chance are actually illegal and addictive gambling devices.

CEC Entertainment Inc., the chain's parent company, argued in a motion filed May 6 that plaintiff Denise Keller's suit lacked merit because the California legislature never intended to criminalize the operation of arcade games for children.
